I think the resounding takeaway from the post-Super Bowl halftime show is that everyone hates Coldplay. Except maybe white dudes over 40. I mean, just take a look at the video we shot here in the Programming Department at 88Nine, me and Glenn–two white dudes over 40–were the only ones who enjoyed the Coldplay portion of the show.

Did you see the Super Bowl halftime performance? What are your thoughts?

It’s not that I didn’t like Bruno Mars (loved him, but didn’t he just do one?) and have never been a Beyoncé fan or even that I’m a huge Coldplay fan, I just felt all three performers (and Mark Ronson) all played their roles, wonderfully. No need to diss one performer in favor of another. If you don’t have something nice to say… It’s as if people had to distance themselves from Coldplay to retain their ‘cred’ while falling over themselves to extoll the virtues of Bruno and Beyoncé. News flash: all three performers are platinum-selling superstars. It’s like dissing Coke to praise Pepsi and 7 Up, they’re all soda pop.

And the cover, with Latin flair:
