First impressions
Flat Teeth debuted last fall with " Winter House," an EP of emotional, melodic indie-rock built around singer/guitarist Nik Stoehr's impassioned, Conor Oberst-worthy warble. On "Fractions Thrown," the band casts Stoehr's tumultuous voice against a lustrous shimmer, and pairs it with one of the group's most dramatic choruses yet. It's a song at war with itself, and the tension comes from hearing it draw itself to a stand still.

"Fractions" is a song about denying your own emotions. It's about chipping away parts of yourself that you want to let go but eventually realizing that what you've mentally separated yourself from is a better version of yourself. And once you've realized this... can you put yourself back together?
