There's a new concert series coming to Black Cat Alley

Milwaukee is not short on free, outdoor music series. It's one of the things that makes summers in Milwaukee so awesome.  Add Black Cat Alley to your list of concert destinations, which is located in the alley behind the Oriental Theater, if you haven't discovered it yet.

Starting on July 22, Nickel & Rose will be the musical guests for the launch of a new series called AlleyWayz. It's a collaboration between Black Cat Alley and BLK SHP (Black Sheep) and features some of the top names in Milwaukee's music scene performing for free, surrounded by inspiring art.

See below for full lineup and more information. See you in the alley!

AlleyWayz schedule

July 22 | Nickel & Rose August 5 | Lorde Fredd33 August 19 | Lex Allen September 2 | Amanda Huff September 16 | Hannah Mrozak

Each date will showcase one of five emerging Milwaukee musicians in partnership with five muralists to present intimate and engaging performances for a local and online audience. This series came together as a collaboration of creatives from across the city spearheaded by Aaron Davis, experience designer with BLK SHP (pronounced “Black Sheep”), Enrique Rodriguez, founder of Magic Studios and Stacey Williams-Ng, program director of Black Cat Alley.

It kicks off Sunday July 22 at 8 p.m.-9 p.m. in Black Cat Alley with Nickel & Rose. Performances will take place every other Sunday evening starting July 22 and ending September 16. The evening’s musician will perform a 30-minute set in front of a mural of their choosing. The kickoff of AlleyWayz will take place in conjunction with Black Cat Alley’s mural festival “Microcosm,” a celebration of public art alongside fellow creatives for a weekend of activities.
