Milwaukee musicians! We want to film your Tiny Desk Contest submission

Since 2008, NPR Music’s Tiny Desk concert series has welcomed beloved musicians from across genres to play behind Bob Boilen’s desk: everyone from Adele to Chance The Rapper and T-Pain to Yo-Yo Ma. The Tiny Desk is a unique space that presents your favorite artists like you’ve never heard them before.

As much as the Tiny Desk is about celebrity, it’s also about discovery. So NPR Music launched the Tiny Desk Contest, a nationwide search to find the next great undiscovered musician to come play a Tiny Desk concert and go on tour with NPR Music.

Got a song you want the world to hear? Ever wanted to play a Tiny Desk concert? Now’s your chance—and we want to help! Scroll for details.
On Saturday, March 30, we’re setting up shop at Music Director Justin Barney’s desk from noon to 5 p.m. and filming 10 Milwaukee musicians' Tiny Desk Contest submissions.

We’ll provide the sound engineer, videographers and desk. You bring the instruments and original music.

Each session will last 30 minutes and we’ll record two takes. Our team will do some fine-tuning and send you the final file by April 8, well before NPR Music’s April 14 submission deadline.

Form closes Thursday, March 28 at 12 p.m. The 88Nine programming team will curate 10 sessions with the goal of representing the variety in the Milwaukee music scene. Selected artists will receive an email to their band contact on Friday, March 29 by 12 p.m.
