I picked up a Jazz Estate cocktail kit and spun jazz and soul live for over five hours

jazz estate cocktail mix-tape

The one thing I do miss doing is checking out a nice jazz show at The Jazz Estate, sitting at the bar enjoying a well-crafted cocktail while watching an intimate performance.

Recently, The Jazz Estate provides a little comfort by providing a few of their famous cocktails to take home and enjoy. All I need is some jazz to accompany my tasty beverage.

So, I decided to order one of their take-home cocktail kits. I chose the Royal Hawaiian because I needed something that felt warm and tropical. The cocktail consists of gin, Orgeat, pineapple juice and bitters.

Then on Sunday, I put on my favorite tiki shirt inspired by the Guardians of the Galaxy, and organized a selection of jazz and soulful tunes and stream myself DJing, enjoying a few cocktails and dancing throughout the Sunday afternoon. I even added quirky video clips as a backdrop including videos of cute cats and clips from Wisconsin's Beeple.

I only planned to spin for an hour or two, but I ended up DJing and dancing (I normally don't dance) for over five hours, which I guess you could attribute to the multiple cocktails I imbibed. Did I mention that each of the cocktail kits makes enough for 16-20 cocktails?

To be honest, it was kind of liberating. I have to say it was probably one of the happiest moments for me during this pandemic. I actually had over 200 people watching me via Mixcloud live. Lucky for me I decided to record about three hours of the mix, which includes some obvious mistakes. You can listen to the mix below with your beverage of choice.
