Destroyer, Fenne Lily, Pedro the Lion line up Milwaukee dates

The Back Room @ Colectivo filled out its spring calendar in a big way Tuesday, announcing shows from two indie-rock veterans and a relative newcomer a little more than a month apart.

Destroyer is up first April 28 for Dan Bejar’s first appearance in town since the release of Labyrinthitis last March. His 13th album released under the Destroyer moniker was extremely well received, with Pitchfork’s Andy Cush saying it “takes the smooth and sophisticated studio-centric pop of the late 1970s and ’80s as its musical center.”

Fenne Lily and Christian Lee Hutson get their turn May 24, six weeks after Lily releases her new album, Big Picture. Huston lent a hand as a producer on one of the LP’s tracks and last April released his own collection of songs, Quitters. This will also be the UK-born, NYC-residing Lily’s second trip through Milwaukee in as many years after playing the same room with Illuminati Hotties and Pom Pom Squad last March.

Five days after Lily and Huston’s appearance, Pedro the Lion will headline the Back Room on May 29, with Erik Walters opening. Dave Bazan has recorded under the Pedro banner since 1995, and on this tour he’s celebrating two past releases by playing every track from each: 1998’s It’s Hard to Find a Friend and 2002’s Control.

Tickets for all three shows go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday at the Pabst/Riverside box offices. You can also use any of the links below to buy tickets online for the respective dates:
