Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival is coming to Alpine Valley

The Red-Headed Stranger will be in Wisconsin this summer, and he’s bringing some friends with him.

Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival actually has two stops in the Badger State — one in Somerset on June 23 and another the following day at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy. The shows are the first two on the tour schedule, and both feature the same lineup:

  • Willie Nelson and Family
  • Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
  • Trampled By Turtles
  • Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway
  • Particle Kid

Since its creation in 2016, the touring show has visited Milwaukee’s Summerfest twice. In 2017, Nelson had Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell and Bob Dylan alongside, while 2019 featured Grateful Dead member Phil Lesh, the Avett Brothers, Counting Crows, Dawes and hometown boy Trapper Schoepp.

This year’s Wisconsin dates fall a couple months after Nelson’s 90th birthday, which he’ll celebrate April 29. If you want to sing a belated “Happy Birthday” to the festival’s ringleader, presale tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, via this page on the Outlaw Music Festival website. The site also has a general sale that starts at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17.
