The 1975 announce Milwaukee show at Fiserv Forum

The 1975 / Facebook

People have … feelings about The 1975. More specifically, they have feelings about frontman Matty Healy, who has sort of become The 1975 in that way a frontman sometimes does. Your general inclination toward him likely mirrors your view of the band as a whole. And whatever that inclination might be, you’ll have the chance to express it in person when The 1975 plays Fiserv Forum on Saturday, Oct. 28.

On a tour titled “Still … at their very best” because of course it’s titled that, the band will criss-cross North American for 39 dates, starting in Atlanta on Sept. 16 and finishing up in Seattle on Dec. 2.

I’m definitely one of those people whose perspective on The 1975 lines up with its lead vocalist/totem. With both the band and Healy, there have been times when I was all in on the entertainment value and the talent (I still enjoy their 2018 album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships). There have also been times when I’m very much uninterested in the music and the antics, particularly the latter during this most recent album cycle for Being Funny in a Foreign Language.

Regardless of how you feel about the general intertwining of music and promotion, we’re likely to get plenty of both at The 1975’s pre-Halloween stop here in Milwaukee. Tickets will first go on sale as part of a fan presale that starts at 10 a.m. next Wednesday, June 21. You can register that on the band’s website. The general sale starts two days later at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, online via Ticketmaster and at the Fiserv Forum box office.
