Summerfest’s first announced headliner for 2025 is Lainey Wilson

Milwaukee World Festival

Summerfest on Monday officially got us thinking about next year’s festival as it unveiled its first headliner for the American Family Insurance Amphitheater: country star Lainey Wilson, who will play the biggest stage on the grounds Thursday, June 26.

Wilson was named Entertainer of the Year by both the Country Music Association (2023) and the Academy of Country Music (2024) at their respective award shows. At the ACM awards, she also won Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year (with Jelly Roll). At the 2023 CMA Awards, she also took home Album of the Year for Bell Bottom Country, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year (with HARDY) for “wait in the truck.”

Wilson seems set to have another potentially prosperous night at next month’s 2024 CMA Awards, where she’s nominated again for Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single of the Year (“Watermelon Moonshine”) and Music Video of the Year (“Wildflowers and Wild Horses”).

On the broader music stage, Bell Bottom Country won the Grammy for Best Country Album and then followed it up this past August by releasing her new album, Whirlwind. Wilson’s talents aren’t limited to the music realm, either, as she appeared in the fifth season of Yellowstone and is set to reprise that role in the show’s final season.

Tickets for the June 26 show at the AmFam Amphitheater go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 18, online via Ticketmaster and at the Amp box office. There are also several presales, which you can learn more about on the event’s Ticketmaster event webpage.
