My Morning Jacket will be back at the Riverside Theater in April

Eight years was a long time to wait between My Morning Jacket live experiences for fans in the Milwaukee area, whose patience was rewarded in June of 2023 after not seeing the full band since 2015. Thankfully, MMJ have drastically reduced that gap and will return to the Riverside Theater on April 18 — less than two years since their last visit.

The show will come almost exactly a month after the March 21 release of new album is, which sets up the plainspoken title for the band’s 18-date journey through the United States, “MY MORNING JACKET ‘is’ ON TOUR.”

We’ve been spinning lead single “Time Waited” on 88Nine, a track with a very on-brand genesis (as explained by frontman Jim James):

I made a loop of that piano intro and listened as I went for a walk, and all these melodies started coming to me. For a long time, I didn’t have lyrics, but then I had a dream where I was in a café and a song was playing, and the lyrics to that song became the lyrics to “Time Waited” — the melodies just fit perfectly. And the lyrics are about how flexible time is, how we can bend and warp time, especially if we are following our hearts, the universe and time itself can flow to work with us.

It’s a comforting message at a time when many of us could use a little (or a lot) more comfort. If you’d like to influence the flow of time so it takes you to the Riverside Theater on April 18, tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. next Friday, Feb. 14, online and at the Pabst/Riverside box offices.

And, just because we love you, we worked with the Pabst Theater Group to bring you a special presale code for early access to tickets. From noon to 10 p.m. next Thursday, Feb. 13, use the code "MMJ889" and grab your seat before the general sale the following day.
