Two new members of the 10-album club to play Milwaukee in 2023

We’re several months away from putting 2022 to bed, and next year’s Milwaukee concert calendar is already taking shape. Among the latest additions are two giants of indie music coming to town: Belle & Sebastian on April 28 and Death Cab for Cutie on June 6.

Both artists have a new album helping fuel their sets. For Belle & Sebastian, A Bit of Previous is their first studio LP since 2015’s Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance. Compared with its poppier predecessor, the latest collection tones things down just a bit while exploring a bunch of sonic influences, from electro to country.

With 10 albums to pull from, the show next April at Turner Hall Ballroom will have plenty of material to work with. You can get tickets online starting at 10 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 21, as well as at the Pabst/Riverside box offices.

Death Cab for Cutie isn’t exactly hurting for songs to fill out their set, either. This year’s Asphalt Meadows is their 10th album as well, with Pitchfork calling it “a restoration of their creative momentum.” We’ve been spinning “Here to Forever” on a regular basis on 88Nine, and you’ll likely hear it live next June at the Riverside Theater.

Tickets for that show also go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 21. They’re available online and at the Pabst/Riverside box offices.
