Summerfest has announced its kick-off headliners. Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy will play the festival's American Family Insurance Amphitheater on Wednesday, Sept. 1, as part of their postponed "Hella Mega Tour." The show will be one of three standalone Wednesday night shows happening in conjunction with Summerfest proper, which this year runs Sept. 2 to 4, 9 to 11 and 16 to 18.
As Piet Levy of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes, this will be by far the smallest stop on the tour, which is otherwise booked for stadiums.
