Summerfest adds Odesza as second-weekend headliner

The American Family Insurance Amphitheater lineup for Summerfest 2023 is starting to get awfully full, as the festival announced Tuesday morning that Odesza will fill one of the few remaining slots. The electronic duo will play Friday, June 30, leaving just two openings at the AmFam Amp: July 1 and 6.

Odesza released their fifth album — and first in five years — when The Last Goodbye came out this past July. Pitchfork’s Daniel Bromfield called it “the duo’s most inward-looking album, yet the music pumps out of the speakers to rattle the nosebleeds.” Sounds like amphitheater-friendly material to me.

As you’d expect, the whole night’s music will be in the vein of its headliner, with support from DJ/producer Bonobo, Chicago duo Drama, Brooklyn-based QRTR, and multi-instrumentalist/multi-hyphenate Olan.

If you want to pick up tickets for the undoubtedly bass-heavy proceedings, the presale for Summerfest Insiders starts at noon this Thursday, Feb. 2 (sign up for the newsletter here). The general sale is the following day at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and the Summerfest box office.
