Summerfest unleashes a tidal wave of free-ticket offers

As of Friday, we’re 55 days away from the start of Summerfest’s 55th anniversary celebration, and if the sheer number of ticket giveaways they announced this week are any indication, they are VERY excited.

The World’s Largest Music Festival shared six different ways you can score a free pass to this year’s installment, although some are admittedly a little harder to achieve than others. So let’s start with the easiest one.

Summerfest 2023 has an app. You might think you already have the latest Summerfest app, but you don’t. Or at least I didn’t. The one you used last year doesn’t count, so remove that from your phone and go get the new one for your Apple or Android device. After you do that, sign in and tap “Promotions” in the menu to nab a free ticket (courtesy of Pepsi) that’ll get you in the gate on one day during the first weekend as long as you show up before 4 p.m. The offer is available right now to the first 15,000 fans who claim it, so get moving.

Just for fun, let’s jump to the absolute hardest way to get a free ticket: have a baby this Friday, April 28. You procrastinators out there aren’t going to have much luck with this one, but if you had the foresight to conceive sometime in late July 2022, you’ve got a shot.

Officially, this promo is called the Little Rockstar partnership with Aurora Health Care, so not only do you need to have a baby exactly on April 28, you need to do it at an Aurora Health Care hospital somewhere in Wisconsin. The little bundle of joy gets a co-branded “Little Rockstar” swaddle and hot, and the entire family receives Summerfest general admission tickets.

Actually, there’s one more pretty much impossible promotion, so let’s get that out of the way. Summerfest is presenting Wisconsin Night at Friday’s game vs. the Angels, but you needed to get a ticket package, and they’re all gone. So, what’s left?

  • Mary Lou’s Closet Supply Drive with Briggs & Stratton, United Way and Summerfest. Go to the Briggs & Stratton Headquarters at 12301 W. Wirth St. in Wauwatosa with a donation of socks, deodorant and/or feminine hygiene products ($10 minimum value), and if you’re one of the first 1,500 people who arrive between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m, you’ll get a free Summerfest general admission ticket.
  • Miller Brewery Tour. The first 555 people to take a tour or buy merch at the Tour Center will get a free general admission ticket.
  • Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. Every hour from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Summerfest Marketplace will give away 55 tickets on a first-come, first-served basis (limit one per person).
