Every Saturday evening we set the vibe for the city of Milwaukee from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. We mix up the hottest sounds from the electronic dance music scene. In The Mix with DJ Kenny Perez prides itself on bringing to the forefront some of Milwaukee’s most talented DJs and producers as guests on the show.

Words can't really express how I am feeling right now. It pains me to hear that my fellow service industry folks have little to no creative spaces available right now. The ability to perform, dance, drink and socialize has been compromised by COVID-19 and we are not happy to say the least. This is how many of us make a living. We really appreciate those of our friends in the biz doing what they can to help one another. Imagine MKE, DJ Dex (local DJ) and Aaron Ohlsson and the Mirimar Theater team are just a few examples on how Milwaukee creatives and industry professionals are coming together during this time of need. In an attempt to bring some needed musical relief, 'In The Mix' will be extending our Saturday evenings from a two hour format, to a four hour dance party! This means more time for having fun in your living room amongst loved ones or roommates. It means you can hear your favorite local or global DJ playing new and exciting music for an extended period of time.
So I asked myself, "What we do and how do we to do this?" I literally talked with our PD and said in so many words, "In The Mix, four hours instead of two!! What do you think?....YES!" It was as simple as that. So I quickly reach out to my fellow DJ's that want to continue playing music, want people to have fun (even during such a difficult time) and importantly be a part of a platform that will help people cope with social distancing. Think about how powerful music is. Now, add a bit of energy and house music! It will bring some much needed relief to your weekend.
Here is what I envision. People turning off their TVs at 10 p.m., instructing whatever device people use to play "88Nine Radio Milwaukee" or simply dialing us on the FM. It's a time to inspire loved ones to dance and get away from the negative energy. So everyone, let the sounds of dance music take over! I can't wait, but while you do, here is the archive of last weekend's show from me and Koshka!
