Artists, DJs, and loyal fans of electronic music have been forced to stay home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, Beatport Live has planned a massive 24-hour streaming event called ReConnect. It will feature 24 artists performing live from their personal studios or living rooms. The event will be hosted on Twitch and broadcasting live on Facebook, YouTube, and Periscope.
They've teamed up with AFEM (Association For Electronic Music), all the TIPS collected on the Twitch live stream will be donated to charitable organizations that will help alleviate the financial burden the corona virus has imposed on the electronic music community. Further donations will be given directly to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, a WHO-led effort to respond to the pandemic and help send essential supplies and personal protective equipment to frontline health workers.
