Washington Park Neighbors have shared what they have going on for this year’s Washington Park Wednesdays, the concert series that brings local musicians, food trucks and other vendors to the bandshell on 43rd Street. The 2024 edition starts July 10 and will take place every Wednesday through Aug. 28. Here’s what they have lined up for entertainment:
- July 10 — Vox Starling, *aya, Darylann
- July 17 — King Courteen, Emmitt James
- July 24 — Florentine Opera & Phe, Jah Boogie
- July 31 — Octavio Arcanjo, Mitchell Shiner’s Latin Vibes, Kerensa Demars of Studio K
- Aug. 7 — Adem Tesfaye, Aliesa Nicole
- Aug. 14 — Afro Dead, Sia Tolno
- Aug. 21 — Hyperbolic, Paul Spencer Band
- Aug. 28 — Evan Christian & Peter Thomas, Marcya Danielle Band
In addition to the main slate, the series has a new stage this year sponsored by Art Intersection MKE and located near the park’s Goethe and Schiller statues. You can expect acoustic sets, spoken word and other smaller acts to play the stage starting around 5 p.m. each Wednesday, with the opener on the bandshell starting at 6 p.m. Anyone interested in playing the new stage can apply by filling out this online form.
Washington Park Friends are also looking for vendors that want to showcase their wares at the park, whether it’s food, art, jewelry, clothing or just about anything else a small business can put on display. The vendor fee is $50 per Wednesday for those selling items and $20 for non-selling vendors. If you’re interested, you can send your information to Washington Park Friends via this online form.
Because we’ve got a little time before the series begins, the organization has also put together a handy Spotify playlist featuring artists scheduled to play the big stage this season. You can give it a listen below and get more information on Washington Park Friends by visiting their website.
