This Saturday, A Tribe Called Quest will officially join the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, taking their rightful place alongside some of the most impactful artists of all time. One week later, the group will get what some might call an equally lofty honor: a tribute concert as part of HYFIN’s Latest & Greatest series.
On Oct. 26 at The Green Room located within Radio Milwaukee HQ, you can join “A Tribute Called Quest” to celebrate the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop groups to walk the planet. The free event won’t look like your usual concert, with highlights including:
- Verzhun, a cutting-edge musical collaboration featuring Jon Harris Jr. (drums) and Jordan "jordimack" Lee (turntables/samplers) that will reimagine A Tribe Called Quest classics through their unique blend of live instrumentation and turntablism.
- DJ Snack Daddy, the Latest and Greatest resident DJ, spinning Tribe-inspired sets throughout the night.
- A Tribe Called Quest live mixtape karaoke showcasing Milwaukee's top talent, including Dr. Stacia Thompson, Bizzon, B~Free, Dame Ellzey, Emmitt James, Count Classic, Brit Nicole, Vincent Van Great, Meg Nice and more.
- Hip-hop trivia hosted by Don't Sajak, testing attendees' knowledge of the genre and A Tribe Called Quest's impactful career.
With so much packed into the 7 p.m. show, we fully expect to pack the place for A Tribute Called Quest, so jump over to the Eventbrite page right now and reserve your free spot.
