The second annual “PULSE: A Health and Wellness Fest For All” is taking over Henry Maier Festival Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 13, with the aim of inspiring people to live fitter, happier and healthier lives.
The free community event includes over 40 group classes ranging from fitness to cooking demonstrations and more than 60 health and fitness organizations in attendance. With health and wellness at the center of its mission, there’s something for everyone at PULSE regardless of fitness level.
The abundance of fitness classes from PULSE partners — including Milwaukee Rec, Orangetheory Fitness, Revival Boxing Fitness & Wellness, Solidcore, Toned Body Fitness and the YMCA of Metro Milwaukee — allows visitors to try new workout forms while casting a light on fitness organizations within the area. Select classes are taught by prominent fitness personalities, such as five-time American Ninja Warrior Yarizett “Ninja Yari” Breunig.
In addition to group fitness classes, the festival park will include a “Ninja Warrior” obstacle course and six pickleball courts. PULSE will also offer engaging activities such as line and Salsa dancing, cooking demonstrations and kayaking.
Other local organizations will also be in attendance to promote access to wellness resources, including a destination of sorts called the Wheel and Sprocket Bike Village, where visitors can learn bike-safety tips while test-riding new children’s bikes and e-bikes. Attendees will also be able to ask one-on-one health- and wellness-related questions to clinicians and experts from Aurora Health Care.
Tickets to PULSE are free, with organizers encouraging attendees to register in advance. On-site registration will also be available. The full schedule of events can be found below, and you more information is available on the event’s webpage
