As The Beatles said, “I get by with a little help from my friends.” That includes me, your friendly host of Kids’ Disco — 88Nine’s hour-long family-focused dance party at 9 a.m. every Saturday.
If you missed last week’s special guests, it was our good pals from Kid Boogie Down, who stopped by to help me with the theme of “Pop Sing-a-Longs.” They were kind enough to start with a slower tempo so I could get warmed up, moved into something more hype and then hit me with my new fave: the KPop Demon Hunters megamix (thanks to Hannah for introducing me to this magic!).
We did our magic in the studio, but for those of you who want the full Kid Boogie Down music experience, I’ve got good news for you. On Oct. 18 at Davidson Park, KBD will throw down the jams for an outdoor Pumpkin Party featuring trick-or-treat, choo-choo train rides, a family photo station and so many fun people to hang out with.
The party goes from 9 a.m. until noon this Saturday, and while you’re driving to the event, you can tune into another episode of Kids’ Disco featuring part three of my synthesizer series. With two parts under my belt, I haven’t repeated a song OR a band yet (humble brag), so warm up those dance grooves and get ready to hear some sweet synth sounds.
See everything that Kid Boogie Down is up to via their Facebook or Instagram pages. And, as always, remember to be kind, stay safe and keep on (Kids’ Disco) dancing!
