It’s a big year for face tattoos at the World’s Largest Music Festival.
Almost two months to the day after announcing the similarly inked Post Malone, Summerfest on Monday revealed that country star Jelly Roll will join his recent tourmate by playing the American Family Insurance Amphitheater during the 2026 festival. His Jelliness will play the final day of Summerfest, which falls on the Fourth of July.
When Jelly Roll hits the stage next July 4, it will have been nearly two years since his last stop in Milwaukee, which saw the singer/rapper headline the Harley-Davidson Homecoming along with Red Hot Chili Peppers in July of 2024. He was one of the highlights of that year’s event, noting on stage that the show was among his biggest to that point.
In the time since, the country star has gotten quite a bit smaller — from a physical perspective anyway. He noted on Joe Rogan’s podcast that his 39th birthday came with a wakeup call to shape up, leading to a nearly 200-pound weight loss. Popularity-wise, Jelly Roll has only gotten bigger and this year has featured on a handful of singles from a variety of collaborators, including fellow Summerfest headliner Alex Warren.
Tickets for Jelly Roll’s Summerfest show at the Amp on July 4 with special guest Tyler Hubbard go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. this Friday, Dec. 19, online via Ticketmaster and at the amphitheater box office.
Jelly Roll artist bio
With the release of 2024 album Beautifully Broken, Nashville native Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) topped the Billboard 200 all-genre chart and earned his second #1 Billboard Country Album chart debut.
Acclaimed by Rolling Stone, Billboard, NPR and more, Beautifully Broken features No. 1 songs like the Grammy-nominated “I Am Not Okay;” “Liar,” which dominated the country radio chart for six straight weeks; and “Heart of Stone.” He continued that momentum with several nominations and award wins, his eighth consecutive #1 at country radio, hits on the rock and Christian charts, and an appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s 50th Anniversary season premiere episode.
Solidifying his place as one of music’s most authentic and powerful voices, Jelly Roll recently completed Post Malone’s “BIG ASS WORLD” tour and performed as part of the first concert at St. Peter's Square, “Grace for the World: The Live Event in Rome.”
Beyond music, Jelly continues his mission: visiting correctional and rehab centers across the globe to bring music to some of the darkest corners — even donating a recording studio to the juvenile center where he was once incarcerated. Praised for both his music and his authentic power to inspire, Variety noted "for everyone who’s facing the same struggles, Jelly Roll is their Springsteen" while American Songwriter hailed him as “a force to be reckoned with.”
