As we moved into Women’s History Month, you may have noticed the mini-stories being shared on 88Nine and HYFIN about influential women who left their mark on our city, our county and our world. You’ll continue to hear those in the weeks ahead, but they’re only part of our plans for the month.
Returning this year is our celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, which falls on a Saturday this time around. Our own Dori Zori spearheaded the effort to recognize the day back when she was the only full-time female host on the air. Now, she finds herself in some very good company with fellow 88Nine DJs Erin Wolf, Carolann Grzybowski, Kat Froehlich, Doris Wessels, Mallorey Wallace and Britt Gottschalk; and HYFIN’s Element Everest-Blanks, Kim Shine and Megan Mathews.
Our International Women’s Day programming is a true team effort, though, which is why this Saturday you’ll hear voices from across Radio Milwaukee presenting music from female, femme and female-identifying artists. Those tunes — and some of the stories behind them — will play all day long on HYFIN and 88Nine, starting at 6 a.m. and running through midnight.
You can check out the full 88Nine schedule below to see who will join Dori Zori throughout the day, then make plans to tune in as we celebrate International Women’s Day the best way we know how.
