The best vampire movies to watch during spooky season

Every week, Kristopher Pollard from Milwaukee Film and Radio Milwaukee’s Dori Zori talk about movies — because that’s what you do when you’re Cinebuds.

Milwaukee Film has a CRAZY busy October going on right now over at the Oriental Theatre. There are music movies and election movies and the Muslim Film Festival coming up in just a few weeks. But for this episode of Cinebuds, Dori and Kpolly go the more seasonally appropriate route and focus on the local organization’s Halloween-friendly series titled (of course) “Bite Club.”

As the name suggests, the movies unspooling at the Oriental as we speak put vampires front and center in a variety of settings. There’s South Korean cinema, Persian-language frights, family-friendly fare and even a visit to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (pre-Avengers, that is).

It presents the perfect excuse for our film-loving duo to share their picks for the best vampire movies, as well as perhaps the worst Transylvanian accents committed to the audio format. Don’t worry, they get the accents out of the way early and then put the focus where it belongs: on our blood-sucking friends.

While a few of the films in the series have already screened, we still added them to the list below so you can track them down yourself and add them to your Halloween watchlist. The rest will be on the big screen at the Oriental Theatre in the weeks to come, so feel free to click the titles you’re interested in and pick up tickets on the Milwaukee Film website.
