On Feb. 3, we officially relaunched our State of Sound project as a monthly concert series. The performance space at Radio Milwaukee was packed as Sleepy Gaucho, dak duBois, Scam Likely and Wave Chapelle introduced this amped-up version that left everyone looking forward to the next concert showcase March 2.
As promised, today marks the debut of the podcast portion of State of Sound, where you'll hear highlights from the live show and an interview with an artist that digs deep into one of their songs. Episodes focused on each of our four acts from the February concert will be released in just a couple weeks, but we decided to get started by inviting back someone who helped us bring State of Sound to life last year.
In this week's episode, 88Nine Music Director Erin Wolf talks with Jasmine, lead singer from the emo-adjacent, rock-melancholia band Bug Moment. You'll hear snippets of their live studio performance and engage in a conversation about the song "Teeth" from the band's latest project, The Flying Toad Circus.
