It's been a minute since we heard from multi-talented indie rockers CLUBZ, whose last project dropped in 2018. But, rest assured, they've been anything but idle. From remixing tracks to crafting electronic gems, they continued to push the boundaries of their genre — a quest that continues on “Fugazi,” a collaboration with Argentine psychedelic pop group Isla de Caras and the latest single from CLUBZ' upcoming album.
On this episode, we also took a moment to honor the passing of a true giant in the music industry: Sérgio Mendes, who died Sept. 6 at the age of 83. The Brazilian legend blessed us with timeless hits like “Magalenha” and “Mas Que Nada,” and provided a rich library of samples that continues to inspire musicians across generations.
A composer, pianist, producer, and singer, Mendes enjoyed a prolific career that spanned over 60 years, working alongside icons from Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire to the Black Eyed Peas. We paid tribute to his legacy by playing some of his most unforgettable tracks.
