On the hunt for high-energy music therapy? Cimafunk has you covered. This episode of La Alternativa feature "Dátela," his latest single from the Afro-Cuban funk project Pa' Tu Cuerpa.
Cimafunk, born Erik Iglesias Rodriguez, left medical school to pursue his music dreams and became a household name when "Me Voy" topped the Cuban charts and launched an international tour for his debut album, Terapia.
Since then, he’s released two EPs and two albums. His 2021 project, El Alimento, cemented his place in the funk-soul scene, featuring collaborations with icons like George Clinton, CeeLo Green and Lupe Fiasco. This year, he brought his dynamic energy to Milwaukee’s Summerfest, sharing the stage with other La Alternativa favorites like Reyna Tropical and Angelica Garcia.
Sunday’s show also brought upbeat moments from Venezuelan rockers La Vida Bohéme, Milwaukee-based brother duo Gego y Nony, Leo Rizzi and more.
