Milwaukee students invited to pitch startup ideas for Milky Way Tech Hub's STEAM challenge

The school year is coming to an end and trying to find engaging activities for your kids can be hard especially during a pandemic this summer. Starting this Saturday, there will be a unique option for middle and high school students to learn about creating a startup and maybe win some money as well.

Milwaukee's Milky Way Tech Hub is hosting a virtual STEAM challenge and pitch competition beginning tomorrow. The competition is for Milwaukee middle and high school students.

The competition encourages teens to develop startup business ideas that solve their community's most pressing problems using technology.

During the competition, teens will learn about the product development cycle and what it takes to turn an idea into a company. Teens will first identify a problem then develop an idea from the problem followed by creating a demo of the solution and then pitching the solution to judges for a chance to win $1000.

You can learn more about this competition at a virtual orientation taking place on May 16 from 2-3 p.m.
