Last year, Milwaukee’s MLB team took over Leff’s Lucky Town in Wauwatosa the day before the home opener as part of the first-ever Brewers Eve Bash. This year, they decided to invite everyone over to their house while also playing pretty fast and loose with the definition of “Eve.”
Next Wednesday, March 29 — a good five days before the 2023 home opener — the second annual Brewers Eve Bash will take place in the left-field concourse of American Family Insurance Field from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The guest list includes team legends Rollie Fingers, Jim Gantner and Larry Hisle, as well as Bernie Brewer and the Famous Racing Sausages.
The location of the party might end up being just as big a star that day, as fans will get their first in-person look at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard. They’ll also have a chance to sample a few food items from the menu and sip on selections from Leinie’s beer list — but not the special brew being cooked up on site. The team is saving that one for opening day April 3.
Besides that, Fingers will be across the concourse at the Brewers Team Store from 5 to 6 p.m. signing free autographs (one per person, no full-sized bats). After that, he’ll head back over to the Barrel Yard to do some light bartending.
The team will have giveaways and other prizes to hand out, and local band Regenerated will provide the evening’s musical accompaniment. The event is free and friendly to all ages, but capacity is limited.
