For fans of live performances, there isn’t a better week on the calendar than Milwaukee Theater Week.
First of all, the annual event overdelivers every year because it isn’t actually a week. The 2025 edition runs from Oct. 10-19, providing ample opportunity to take advantage of the variety of productions on offer — from classical music to comedy — while also scoring deals at venues across the city.
The venues really are the story here. Milwaukee Theater Week started as a way to showcase the locations and organizations that offer live entertainment all year round, as well as the creative folks who make that entertainment happen.
“Milwaukee Theater Week is about more than what happens on stage; it’s about creating experiences that connect people to the arts in everyday life,” Visit Milwaukee chief marketing officer Joshua Albrecht said in a release. “We’re proud to bring new opportunities for the community to discover and celebrate Milwaukee’s cultural heartbeat.”
That’s reflected in the discounts available, including:
- First Stage — 30% off Goosebumps: Phantom of the Auditorium
- Florentine Opera Company — Buy-one-get-one tickets to Don Giovanni
- Milwaukee Chamber Theatre —$25 tickets to the 2025-26 season
- Milwaukee Repertory Theater — 25% off adult tickets to It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
- Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra — 15% off Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony & Hocus Pocus
- Next Act Theatre — 30% off Adult Tickets to Boswell
- Renaissance Theaterworks — $5 off tickets to Switzerland by Joanna Murray-Smith
- Skylight Music Theatre — 15% off Fiddler on the Roof
Milwaukee Theater Week also includes some unique experiences, including a well-timed “Haunted Tales of the Milwaukee Theater District” tour presented by City Tours MKE that runs throughout October. Less spooky and more serene is the chance to do yoga on stage at the Miller High Life Theatre as part of “Center Stage Savasana” on Oct. 14 (RSVP required for that one).
For pre- or post-show food, organizers lined up a deal with Vagabond MKE that’ll get you a Friday fish fry in taco form (called … ahem, “Les Fishérable Taco”) and the “Happy Days on Stage” apple cider margarita. On the social-media front, the Best Seats in MKE will reappear at five locations around the city, featuring authentic seats from Milwaukee Rep’s 1988 Powerhouse Theater.
