This nine-story boutique hotel is coming to the Deer District

In March Milwaukee approved plans for a new, high-end hotel in downtown's Deer District. And today Madison-based developers North Central Group revealed the name of its nine-story, 205-room Marriot Autograph Hotel: It'll be called The Trade.

The name was announced at a press conference Wednesday morning in the Deer District with Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin.

The hotel will be built at 420 W. Juneau Ave., just north of Fiserv Forum on land leased from the Milwaukee Bucks.

"The new hotel will be a hub for guests coming to Milwaukee - providing unique, high-end accommodations in the heart of the city," the Deer District tweeted.

The developers plan to open the hotel by early 2023.
