Polls open until 8 p.m. Tuesday for Milwaukee mayor, county board elections

Milwaukee will elect a new mayor Tuesday.

Former Milwaukee Ald. Bob Donovan faces Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson in the city's first election for mayor in 18 years. The winner will finish out former mayor Tom Barrett's term and would then face re-election in 2024.

In addition to mayor, Milwaukee county voters will see races for six county supervisor seats as well as various races in suburban communities.

Polls are open for in person voting until 8 p.m today. If you are not registered to vote, you can still register at your polling location with a photo ID and proof of residence document. A photo ID is required for all voters.

You can also verify your registration status, locate your polling place and view a sample a ballot on the state Election Commission website.
