The signs of spring keep rolling in — the latest coming from the Milwaukee Brewers, who announced that registration is officially open for the Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk hosted by the Brewers Community Foundation (BCF).

This year’s event is the 25th installment and will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 29, with the 5K and 10K routes (3.1 and 6.2 miles for fans of the imperial system) going past various landmarks in and around American Family Field.

Participants will take their first strides on Fredrick Miller Way right next to the Tailgate Haus near the Gantner lot. The 10K route hasn’t been squared away yet, but we know for sure everyone will eventually find themselves on the warning track — right in front of where all those home runs have been flying over the wall so far this season.

The team pointed out that registration fees are at their lowest right now — $35 per person for 5K and virtual participants, and $40 for the 10K — and will remain so through April 30. You can register as an individual or a team (minimum of 12 members required), and everyone receives the following:

  • Commemorative tech t-shirt featuring the Racing Sausages
  • Voucher redeemable for one ticket to select Brewers home games
  • Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich reward card
  • Food/beverage at the post-event tailgate party

In addition, team participants get a bobblehead and their team name printed on the back of the tech t-shirt.

The event benefits the BCF, as well as Fisher House Wisconsin and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, both of which help care for our nation’s veterans and service members. You can register and get more information about this year’s run/walk on the Brewers website.
