Places to eat in Atlanta
The NFC Championship game will be held in Atlanta this Sunday and I know there will be a lot of Wisconsin Packer fans will be heading down this weekend. So we decided to share some of great places to grab a bite before and after the game.
Buford Highway
If you love food like me, you must travel down Buford Highway for a cornucopia of delights from around the world. As some of you know, I’m huge a fan of dim sum and I have been begging for a proper joint in Milwaukee. One of my favorite dim sum joints on Buford Highway is Canton House. I attended a pre-wedding dinner for my friend here. You can find all types of restaurants — Korean, Vietnamese, Bangadelshi, Mexican, and more. There’s even a Korean restaurant, Hae Woon Dae, that’s open till 6am. But you need to check out the Buford Highway Farmers Market. It’s probably one of my favorite markets and grocery stores in America. It offers unique food from all over the world, including Korea, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, West Africa, Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Eastern Europe and more. The market also contains a food court with freshly paired dishes from the four corners of the globe.
Heirloom Market BBQ
The South is known for BBQ. Heirloom BBQ is unique twist on this southern classic. Heirloom Market BBQ blends the flavors of traditional BBQ with the flavors of South Korea. You can get ribs marinated in gochujang (Korean red, fermented chili paste), spicy Korean pork sandwich, Tempura Sweet Potatoes, Kimchi coleslaw and more.
Holeman and Finch
If you want a unique twist on Southern cuisine, you must try Holeman and Finch. You can fine dishes like Buffalo Chicken Skins, Pig Head Fritters, Deviled Eggs Three Ways, and country ham that is just as good as the hams you can find in Spain. But they are known for their burgers, which are considered one of the best in Atlanta.
Octopus Bar
If you looking some tasty late-night bites, you must try the Octopus Bar. Octopus Bar opens at 10:30pm and closes at 2:30pm. You can get dishes like lobster rolls, ramen, Spanish octopus, and even some Korean BBQ.
Krog Street Market
Krog Street Market is a food court on steroids. Fodor's Travel call the Market one of the top 10 Food Halls in America. You can find everything from dumplings to BBQ to Baos to fancy cocktails. There is even butcher shops in the market.
Mary Mac's Tea Room
If you want some good traditional Southern cuisine, you must check out Mary Mac's Tea Room. The restaurant first opened in 1945. Besides classics like greens and okra, you can get some of city's best sweet tea.
Waffle House
Trust me, you need to visit the Waffle House at least once in your life.
Santino's Little Italy in Bay View
Bay View's newest pizzeria, Santino's Little Italy opened today. Santino's specializes in Neapolitan style pizzas.
