Apple Orchards
Fall is just around the corner and that means apple-picking season. Milwaukee Magazine recently posted an article titled, "6 Milwaukee-Area Apple Orchards to visit this fall."
Lao BBQ feat. Chef Soulayphet
Sap-Sap, the folks behind Mama's Egg Rolls, will be hosting a Laotian BBQ on Sep. 16 at Hometown Sausage Kitchen in East Troy. Sap-Sap will be bringing in NYC Chef Soulayphet from Khe-Yo. Chef Soulayphet has appeared on Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown feature, "Laos in Five Dishes" and "Chef Night's Out" on Vice's food channel, Munchies.
The dinner will be held at the outdoor dining space at Hometown Sausage Kitchen from 4 pm - 9 pm. The dinner costs $60 and it is BYOB. Here is the menu:

18th annual Men Who Cook Competition
On Sep. 2, the 18 annual Men's Who Cook competition will take place at the YMCA at 4340 N. 46 st. The event starts 10 am and ends at 4 pm.
Taste of Home Live on Sep. 11 at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee
Taste of Home LIVE is an interactive, live culinary show, brought to you by the country's number one cooking magazine! Our themed tours feature Taste of Home recipes, each tested in our Test Kitchen and featuring fun, familiar, everyday ingredients. The show will also teach food decorating and entertaining tips, making it easy to entertain guests.
Pre-Show Party (6:00 - 7:00 p.m.)

The Show (7:00 - 8:30 p.m.)

Ask our chef questions and win prizes throughout the evening. A few lucky attendees will even get a chance to come up on stage to help prepare recipes, or participate in a competition!
