Nature has inspired music from every genre, and throughout the summer in Milwaukee's Washington Park, local teens have been tapping into the park's natural assets for musical inspiration at the Urban Ecology Center.
Present Music led the "Creation Project," a program at the UEC and two MPS high schools, to expose musical newcomers to the art of songwriting. It culminated with the writing and recording of this original song, written entirely by 7-12 year old students in the Young Scientists Club at UEC.
The students you'll hear in the story below were participants in the UEC's Outdoor Leaders program and worked with Present Music Composer-in-Residence, Connie Grauer.
