The modern, urban taproom
These days, beer drinkers have a lot of choices when it comes to finding their favorite suds on tap, especially if they prefer the locally made, smaller batch varieties found at Milwaukee craft breweries.
In the last few years, the city has seen a dramatic expansion of local breweries and taprooms, following the nationwide craft brewery movement.
One of the most recent — and successful — Milwaukee craft breweries is Good City Brewing on Milwaukee's East Side. In just a year and a half, the operation has steadily grown, and it has increased its footprint within its location on Farwell Avenue.

Granddaddy of them all
But, Good City was hardly the first craft brewery to open in Milwaukee. That title belongs to Sprecher Brewery, which launched its brewing operation in Walker's Point in 1985.
Originally producing full-flavor European style beers, the brewery experienced steady growth over the years, and early on, introduced a full line of soft drinks. Now its sodas are the best selling beverages, although its beer sales remain strong.
