With conversations around racial issues and prejudice at the forefront of our society right now -- and with a global pandemic as a backdrop -- you may be spending more time looking within, thinking.
It's a spirit matched by artist Radcliffe Bailey's sculpture downtown, entitled "Pensive," depicting W.E.B. Du Bois, a prominent Civil Rights leader. It became a permanent installation at Water and Wells streets, outside the new BMO building and across from Milwaukee city hall in April.
Du Bois visited Milwaukee in 1922, and it just so happens the statue stands just blocks away from where he spoke.
