Take one last look inside the former Journal Sentinel building

These days, it's all but empty.

But for decades, the former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel headquarters in downtown Milwaukee was a bustling complex, buzzing with hundreds of people, all working toward the same goal of publishing the day's news.

The newspaper moved it offices to a smaller location earlier this year at 330 E. Kilbourn Ave., after months of gradually relocating the newsroom and its staff.

Now just a few employees remain in the old location, clearing out the very last of the remaining books and photos.

OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo got a homecoming tour of the three-building complex at 4th and State St., where he worked for five years early in his career.

As always, he took tons of great behind-the-scenes photos for his story at OnMilwaukee. Listen to this week's podcast below to learn more about the building's history and its next chapter as MATC student housing and market-rate apartments.
