Milwaukee parking restrictions are being put back in place on June 15

Back in March, as the COVID-19 pandemic swiftly shut down much of the city, Milwaukee’s Department of Public Works announced it was suspending all timed, metered and night parking restrictions. Today, however, it announced that its restrictions on timed and metered parking will go back into effect starting Monday, June 15.

The DPW cited reopening businesses in making the decision. The good news? The holiday on night and alternate-side parking restrictions will remain for the time being.

"Effective Monday (6/15) DPW will resume enforcement of ALL timed & metered restrictions," the DPW tweeted. "As more and more businesses reopen the need for turnover in parking spots has increased. Alternate side-parking and night parking permits will not be enforced until a later date that is TBD."
