Don't call Aretha Ms. Fat Booty

Seven O Clock sample time...Once again today, I'd like to play some cuts that you would not think "WOW! What a great rap song that would be!"Today I thought we'd take it back to 1999. A GREAT time for Hip Hop. Rawkus Records was in full swing and the Mighty MOS DEF released his debut Black On Both Sides. The first single for this album hit stores in the fall of 2009. his 12' was one of my favorites that year.

This track was produced by Ayotollah. The song and its chorus are both driven by multiple samples of Aretha Franklin's "One Step Ahead," a rare Columbia single released in 1965.Ooh we! That's a funky jam... Let's take a listen to how Ayotollah flipped that sample...Awesome!!!!!
