"Be Heard": 4th Street Forum | Clean Energy, Jobs, And Wisconsin's Future

Listen: This week, the 4th Street Forum looked closely at the provisions in the Clean Energy Jobs Act currently under consideration in the Wisconsin state legislature. Proponents of the bill highlight the need to relinquish our reliance on foreign fossil fuels and create renewable energy resources here at home. Critics fear that the initial rising energy costs will hurt Wisconsin's short term economy without providing solid benefits in the future.

The panel this week included Lisa Kaiser (Assistant Editor for the Shepherd Express), Josh Zepnick (State Representative for the 9th District), James Peoples (Economics Professor at UW-Milwaukee), and as a gracious substitute for Senator Glenn Grothman, Steve Baas (Director of Governmental Affairs at the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce).

The 4th Street Forum is on the road this Thursday for a special 6PM taping at Concordia College. They will take on “Women in Wisconsin Politics.” American women have had the vote for ninety years. But in America, and Wisconsin, women hold only twenty percent of state elected offices. Why this disparity? Would more equal representation mean better government?

More information on the 4th Street Forum is available at their website . You can also check out the embarrassment of riches that is their video archives .
