"The Neighborhood Project" : Walker's Point | Gay Softball World Series

 

Here's an extra piece from the Walker's Point segment of the Neighborhood Project . In 2009, Milwaukee hosted the largest yearly LGBT sporting event in the world. The North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance holds a softball World Series known as NAGAAA Fest and last year Milwaukee won the bid. Listen as organizers of the event, Brian Reinkober and Mona Garcia talk about how they won the bid and what it took to put it all together. In the end, this event brought over 7,000 players and fans to the city and put 6 million dollars into our local economy:
