"Make A Difference": Environment | Who You're Supporting at Fondy Farmers Market

Listen: You've definitely heard it before: "Going to farmers markets is a good thing to do." But why exactly? Well, there's the freshness, being outside, occasional live music, the prices, selection, and probably the first thing that comes to mind, buying local. Here's a little tougher question -- what does 'buying local' mean? Well, I went to Fondy Farmers Market to find an answer to that question.

This piece is pretty simple -- Nicole Lightwine from the Walnut Way Conservation Corp walked me from their offices off 17th and North to Fondy (off North and Fond Du Lac). There, I simply met what it means to 'buy local,' talking to the farmers and vendors about who they are, where they're from, and what they're selling. Just a taste of the amazing personalities and stories you can find at Fondy Farmers Market:

Want to learn more about Fondy Farmers Market? Check out their website! Or even better, visit them in person (they'll be open until October 31st) and buy yourself some delicious produce!
