Their have been countless studies that show the healing power of music can have a profound effect on one's life. Whether we agree or disagree with the decision to go to war, one thing is for certain there are men and women who bravely fight for and honorably represent our country. As a consequence of war, many of our soldiers come home with physical and emotional injuries. They need help. Emotion and physical wounds can be healed with medicine and technology, but sometimes that's not enough.
The folks at Guitars For Vets have been using the healing power of music to help our countries brave men and women. Guitars For Vets, Inc. is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of ailing and injured military Veterans by providing them with guitars and music instruction. Through self-expression and the healing power of music, it is their intent to restore the feelings of joy and purpose that can be lost after suffering trauma.
This morning, Jordan had G4V President Dan Van Buskirk and Vice President, Patrick Nettesheim in to tell us more about this great organization.
You can hear their story below, and connect with them on the web at www.guitars4vets.org.
