Starting today, I will be writing about artists and music that I discover, which I will play on Rhythm Lab Radio every Friday night at 10. There will be all types of genres from all over the world.
This first pick comes from San Antonio, Texas. His name is Sonora Longoria and his music is part of genre called Tropical Bass. Think of the genre as futuristic interpretations of global music such as reggae, cumbia, dub, soca and other global sounds. I discovered Sonora Longoria over at the XLR8R website. He currently has an EP called SIempre Fresco, which is a 5 song EP full of Cumbia mixed in with screwed and twisted Reggaeton ravy synths and lots of percussion.
