"Meet The Need": Day 16 of 50 | A Place To Learn, For Everybody.

Listen: We've reached Day 16 of 50 in our Meet The Need campaign (about 1/3 of the way through!) and we'll spend the day getting to know The Alliance School. Throughout the past two years, I've run across Alliance here and there, whether it be seeing their students out at community events, hearing awesome stories about them from colleagues, or seeing them pop up in national publications. Having had a chance to observe from the edges of their work, I've been quite impressed, and now that I've had a chance to sit down with them, I can see they're the real deal. I can't wait to work them further in campaigns down the line -- they have plenty of stories and good work to share.

For Meet The Need, I met lead teacher Tina Owen and art instructor Jill Engle and they brought me inside Alliance:

-Tina shares with us where the idea for Alliance came from:

-Once the school became a reality, there was plenty of nervousness and anticipation for the school's grand opening. From the get go, they found the students who were looking for community waiting on their doorstep:

-Over the past 5 years at Alliance, Tina has had a chance to wrap her head around the needs of her students:

-By focusing on an accepting and nurturing community, Alliance creates a setting where individuals can flourish and find their own path:

-More than anything, Alliance needs adults to volunteer with them and have positive interactions with the kids:

This year, we ask you to adopt one or two organizations that connect with you. Want to get involved with . Donate, volunteer, or check out their work yourself. And you can start with their website.
