Listen: After a recap day looking back at organizations we’ve worked with in the first half of the campaign, we forge forward with the BloodCenter of Wisconsin on Day 29 of 50 of Meet The Need. While they may be most frequently associated with blood collection and distribution, there are many other sides to their work – in fact, they use the slogan “doing more good than you know.” Since 1947, the BloodCenter of Wisconsin has served the community by specializing in blood collection and distribution, diagnostic testing, medical services and research.

-Many folks have a fear of donating blood, organs, or tissues. Crystal gives us some ways of thinking about donation that might calm some of that apprehension:
-The story of a young woman who needed 100 units of blood to save her life:
-Crystal shares one of her favorite donors and how he embraces the idea of ‘donorship:’
-Finally, they have a number of ways you can get involved in their vital work:
This year, we ask you to adopt one or two organizations that connect with you. Want to get involved with the Blood Center of Wisconsin? Donate, volunteer, or check out their work yourself. And you can start with their website.
