This week we are celebrating the music of Nina Simone. She was born this week in 1933. Her musical legacy spanned over six decades, and her music continues to be covered, performed and sampled by artists around the world.
In 1965, Nina released on of her best known albums I PUT A SPELL ON YOU.
This album included hits like "I Put A Spell On You", "Gimme Some", and "Feeling Good".
The song "Feeling Good" has been covered by many singers; but few have the pop culture impact that Nina's version has.
Her version of this song, has been sampled by numerous other artists. Unkle, G-Unit, Mary J Bliege, and AZ have all used this track to create new songs. My personal favorite use of this track is Wax Tailor's song " How I Feel".
