Chris Scott and Pete Kostrivas had played music together since high school, but nothing too serious, until 2008.
The duo Pete was in at the time, Art Is For Amateurs, was going through personnel changes. Chris joined up with Pete to play a show that was already booked, just to fill in. They quickly discovered that they wanted to keep going, the project was completely different and new from Art Is For Amateurs, so they changed the name to Sharking Hour and began working on a new album.
