This week we are exploring the music of Daft Punk. Recently, the Daft Duo scored the soundtrack to Disney's new movie Tron: Legacy. This was not Thomas and Guy's first movie score.
Back in 2001, Daft Punk released DISCOVERY. The album provided itself as a soundtrack to the anime film Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, which was a collaboration between the creators of the album, Leiji Matsumoto, and Toei Animation. All of the music videos for the tracks on the album are segments of the film.

So this song featured a long lost disco jam from 1983. The early 80s were a bad time for disco, and with that many of these songs were forgotten. In 1983 Oliver Cheatham released "SATURDAY NIGHT" on MCA records. The lead single "Get Down Saturday Night" has been sampled by many artist including Daft Punk.
